4XGMPR BLACK FOREST'S SAGEBRUSH SUE

Sage is a beautiful yellow female. She is 60 pounds of pure muscle and a bird finding machine! Her natural pointing ability was evident as a six week old pup when she locked up solid on her first bird exposure. Sine, she has only increased her notoriety among her peers.

In September 2004 Sage rose to the occasion at the Kaystack Ranch in Colorado in the largest APLA event in the organizations history. In a field of over 30 dogs at the masters level, Sage was only one of two dogs to earn a pass that day! She did so under extremely difficult scenting conditions of no wind and zero moisture. This performance earned her a Grand Master Pointing Retriever title. She followed up the next day with another pass making her a 1.5X GMPR. Since that time she has had five more passes to join the ranks of the elite few who have became 4XGMPRs.

Two of the finest compliments she has ever received at an APLA event came from judges in Minnesota in June of 2005. After she had slammed the upland field the first judge's comment was, "That was a treat. I had always heard how good she was but I had never had a chance to be behind her in the field. "That comment was followed up by the co-judge saying, I'm very impressed with your dog. Anything else I would say would do her a disservice." That pretty much says it all.

Sage is hunted extensively on wild quail in the heart of some of the best quail country in the nation. Each fall she is on thousands of birds. As a result she undoubtedly has more experience with wild quail than any other pointing lab in the nation. To date, she has hunted bobwhite, blue and gambles quail. This fall plans have been made to hunt mearns quail. This will be followed by mountain and valley quail to allow her to become the first Pointing Labrador to complete the Quail Grand Slam.

She had thrown these qualities into her offspring as they too have pointed at ages of less than eight weeks. As a result her pups are always in very high demand.
